Kristina Murray MS, LAC
Therapist, Telehealth Only
Kristina Murray, MS, LAC, is a compassionate and highly dedicated counselor with over six years of experience supporting individuals on their journey toward healing, growth, and self-discovery. She specializes in working with military populations and individuals navigating a range of challenges, including PTSD, depression, anxiety, body dysmorphia, eating disorders, grief, suicidal ideation, and self-harm. Kristina is deeply committed to helping clients feel seen, understood, and empowered as they build meaningful, lasting change in their lives.
Kristina holds a Master’s degree in Psychology with a concentration in Clinical Mental Health Administration, as well as a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Capella University. This dual foundation allows her to approach care with both clinical depth and a broader understanding of systems, leadership, and the complexities of mental health support. She practices from an integrative, client-centered perspective, blending mindfulness-based techniques with evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Kristina thoughtfully tailors her work to each individual, honoring the uniqueness of every client’s experience. She believes that with the right support, insight, and tools, individuals are capable of profound resilience and transformation.
Kristina is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Advanced Studies in Human Behavior. Her dissertation, “Influence of Media on African American Fathers,” reflects her dedication to exploring complex social issues and their impact on identity, family dynamics, and mental health.
Her approach to therapy is grounded in authenticity, empathy, and trust. Kristina creates a warm, nonjudgmental space where clients feel safe to explore their thoughts, emotions, and experiences at their own pace. She works with individuals across the lifespan—from adolescence through later adulthood—and is passionate about helping clients deepen self-awareness, strengthen coping skills, and cultivate lasting emotional well-being.
In addition to her clinical work, Kristina serves as an adjunct instructor in higher education, where she teaches and mentors future professionals in the field of behavioral health. She is passionate about shaping the next generation of counselors and contributing to a field grounded in compassion, competence, and ethical care.
Kristina’s ultimate goal is to support clients in creating a life that feels balanced, fulfilling, and aligned with their values—equipping them with the skills and confidence to continue growing long after therapy concludes.
